For the third time this year I am in North Cornwall, Trebetherick.

It looks like it’s going to be a funny sort of week as the weather is absolutely crazy with wind and rain like I’ve never seen before.

I will upload this page with photographs – to keep your eyes pealed!

I hope you enjoy these photographs.

My Camera Kit

I am using the DSLR: Canon EOS 5D mark II

Lenses

I used several different lenses for these photographs.

  • Canon EF 16-35mm f/2.8 L
  • Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8 L
  • Canon EF 85mm f/1.8 USM
  • Canon EF 135mm f/2.0 L
  • Canon EF 200mm f/2.8 L

No Tripod

All of the photographs were taken hand-held - no tripod was used.

I particularly prefer to be able to move around quickly, get low on the ground, stand up, sit down, lie down to get the right angle. So a tripod can be restrictive when it’s not a necessity.

Hand Held

I can hand-hold my DSLR with a slow shutter speed. The slowest I go without using a tripod is: 1/10. I.e. 10th of a second.

I’m able to control my natural body-shake at that speed, but obviously if I’m photographing a fast-moving object then I have to adjust that speed.

If you want to learn how to increase your ability to hand-hold your DSLR with a slow/low shutter speed, my Photography Tips eBook will teach you how to do that.

How I Process these Photographs

I use the wonderful program, Adobe Lightroom for processing (i.e. correcting exposure, white balance, colour etc).

I use my Lightroom Presets to speed up the processing time.

For these particular photographs I used the following Lightroom Presets which are available on The Bell Sisters.
