Bonfire Night Preparation (photo series)

I love this time of the year, at least once I get over the fact that summer has officially ended.

So I’ve really begun to embrace autumn… photographing leaves, autumn tree lines, and then the holiday’s we have at this time of the year too.

First Halloween, now bonfire night!

Here are some photos I took yesterday of these yummy toffee apples and marshmallows on twigs to roast over a fire. Yummy!

Processing & Kit Involved

To take these I used my trusty tripod, Canon EOS 5D Mark II and Canon EF 85mm f/1.2 L II

Then I used a reflector to balance the light, and obviously the food involved!

Once I took the photos, I then imported them, and processed them in Lightroom 4.

For the processing I used 2 presets:-

1. General Adjustments Lightroom Preset Pack. (for the toffee apples)

2. The Best Sellers Lightroom Pack (the Soft Afternoon Glow Version) - (for the marshmallows)

English Country Roads (Photo Series)

What do you do when the weather is abysmal, and you have to take a photograph?

Well you go out for a drive… and hope the weather changes.

And when it doesn’t, you go a little wild, and photograph roads!

Funnily enough, I really enjoyed taking these and sharing some of my favourite roads.

In some of the shots I think you’ll notice the rain – it was SO bad…!

I’m feeling really inspired and excited about autumn…

Even when it’s raining and it’s miserable, I’m somehow still able to get excited…!

One of the things I love doing the most, is looking for the first signs of autumn, and trying to capture as much of the change as possible before winter arrives and it gets really, really cold, dull and grey!

Spring is Blooming (Photo Series)

It’s that time of year again… this weekend the clocks change and it will officially be spring!

Although today feels like today is the day – it’s 16 degrees and blissfully warm.

I can’t wait to see all the many beautiful flowers which are surely going to be on their way soon – the blossom is here though, so lets look at the photographs!

A Warm Spring Evening (self-portrait photo series)

The weather has warmed up dramatically in the last few days… it’s blissful!

So, as I haven’t done any self-portraits in ages I thought the weather was trying to tell me something… so off I went to try and get the last bit of light before the sun went down.

It was one of those days when you keep meaning to go outside, but every time you do, things get in the way – I almost left it too late, but I know this spot and knew there would be a tiny little bit of sunshine left.

Anyway… here they are!

Summer Heatwave Series

Yesterday evening the three of us went and photographed the sunset.

I haven’t had the chance to photograph a sunset since the winter – so it was gorgeous to see after such a long time.

What I especially like is how the sun now sets in a completely different position than it did a few months ago.

The surprising thing is how quickly the sun disappeared, the winter sunsets I remember would disappear from view, but the one last night disappeared behind the clouds.

Anyway, here are a few snapshots I took with my iPhone.
